Bold Landscapes Canterbury Edition
Bold Landscapes Canterbury Edition is the second instalment in the series.
Sticking with the formula of the previous Bold Landscapes from 2020 it allowed for the creative process to flow easily -- a play-on-words approach, featuring bold shapes/colours and the phrase "bold landscape". This time around the designs became more precise on geographical identification and colour experimentation expanded.
Now that the designs were more refined, it was even more rewarding to see how viewers responded to the places themselves, sparking sentimental connections to the locations. With the great response, commissions from customers were ordered for their favourite places.
Bold Landscapes Canterbury Edition was a self--titled body of work that exhibited in 2022 at the Rangiora Chamber Gallery in North Canterbury. The success was reflected in being the most sales and attendances for the past five years of the gallery's shows.
The early 20th century space complimented the design works, which themselves reference old travel posters with a modern twist. Creating a cohesive experience as the viewer walked around.
